Goa’s beaches looks prettier from a luxury villa

Goa’s beaches can be divided into three categories:

The south is more peaceful, a true ode to the Susegad way of life, which has left the beaches surrounded here by charming little fishing villages, bands of coconut trees. The fantastic beaches of South Goa, whiter and quieter, will force you to slow down, and take in the natural scene of this tropical paradise. The beaches in South Goa are preferred by tourists who prioritise nature and appreciate the finer aspects of life.

The north, and particularly the stretch from Candolim to Calangute has been a tourist favourite for decades. The exhilarating beach life, with all kinds of adventure sports and shopping options is matched by the lively parties of its famous night clubs host. These beaches offer wholesome holiday fun, and are best enjoyed from the comfort of a private beach villa.

We have reserved Goa’s northernmost beaches Morjim, Anjuna and Aswhem into a category of their own. More bohemian and edgy, it appeals to the young with global exposure and an open mind, willing to experiment in new age philosophies, and let their hair down in moonlight, trance dance parties.

Calangute, Candolim and Baga Beaches in the North are perfect match for those looking to have a bit of everything 

Calangute Beach is one of the most famous beaches in Goa and has a lively vibe with many beach shacks and stalls. It also has many water sport activities that you can take part in like parasailing, banana boat rides etc. 

Candolim Beach is another popular beach that people love, with the sinquerim fort close by, guests can enjoy the fantastic view from the fort and the thrill of the beach. 

Known for its bohemian vibe, Anjuna and Vagator beach have huge cliffs and lively flea markets nearby. Morjim and Ashwem Beach have a quieter vibe and have fewer crowds, making them great beaches to relax and unwind.

Candolim hosts the most of star hotels along with few  high end luxury villas

If beaches were movies, Candolim would be rated G. The perfect beach for the family with a wide range of beachside activities and iconic sites such as the 17th century Fort Aguada. Candolim’s main streets are lined with silver jewellery and leather accessory shops, perfect for that fun holiday buy.

At one end is the Taj with a bunch of high-end restaurants, at the other, the ever-packed Fisherman’s Cove and between them everything from homely Tibetan momos, premium Goan thalis, to cafes that know their fish and chips. The stretch has everything you could crave. All of this is accessible from any of our luxury beach villas you chose to rent.

Less than a 100 km from the beach, behind a beautifully manicured courtyard, stands Villa Amore. Calangute were called as a queen of beaches and hosts the most of beach villas in Goa

One of the longest beaches of Goa , the7 km long Calanute is also one of the state’s oldest tourist hotspots. Nicknamed the ‘Queen of Beaches’ it continues to be very popular with Indian tourists. Calangute over the decades has developed into a busy little village, with shops draped in sunny beach dresses, handicraft showrooms and tattoo parlours lining either sides of the road leading up to the beach.

You could, when you rent a villa by the beach, choose to share in the general excitement at your discretion. Have breakfast at the Infantaria on the busy Calangute Baga road and dinner at Souza Lobo – a restaurant that has been servicing Goa ‘s visitor authentic Goan food since 1932 – and then retreat to the calm privacy of your personal beachfront villa.

Come stay at Villa Tiara in Calangute. This 7 bedroom gorgeous two floor property, 100 meters from the beach, with its large open courtyard that allows outdoor dining, with wide verandas and a poolside snooker table is perfect for you and your friends to unwind. With their four poster beds and period furniture, the bedrooms come with their own cupboards and in situ bathrooms; many of them have their private balconies too. With its massive pool and sprawling lawn it can host a group of 14. The first floor can be accessed through a separate entrance offering greater privacy for groups that include couples.

Baga is where everything started and Baga creek has the most density of villas in Goa, ranging  from budget to very luxury ones

As Candolim does with Calangute, Calangute blends into Baga. When you rent a beachside villa here, you’ll be spending your nights in some of the most iconic clubs of India. The parties Baga’s clubs have seen and the stories they’d have to tell if they could whisper them to you!

Here stands Club Tito, a 50-plus-year-old institution that is part of the coming – of -age adventures or misadventures of every generation of Indian. WIth its unobstructed view of the beach, Tito has been drawing such steady crowds through the years that the lane itself is now named after it. With many new clubs accommodating India’s growing population of young revellers, Baga continues to retain its status as Party Central, wooing the best Indian pop stars and international DJs. The nights are always young here and we can help you throw an after-party at the beach villa you rent, and let it live on for longer.

The other Baga institution is Britto, the nearly sixty-year-old beachside restaurant whose generous portions of baked crabs and fish caldine continues to satisfy patrons. There are also shacks in plenty during the season, you only have to find a deck chair, hopefully one under an umbrella and someone will soon turn up at your side, menu in hand, offering you a child beer.

Anjuna and Vagator beaches are more popular for its views

Anjuna, once  a hippie paradise, are now sought-after for  villa destination

The beach at Anjuna is rocky and not the highlight of this village. It is the community and the vibe that Anjuna, as it retains the old hangout of the hipsters in the sixties and seventies. The best place to experience this is at the  flea market, or the hilltop market – yet another tradition stemming from its bohemian history. A wild range of great restaurants, and a trance music scene makes up for the lack of a generous stretch of sand on this beach. The sunsets though are just as spectacular as anywhere else on the coast.

Anjuna’s wild youth as a tourist spot, may have collected a little, but the village hasn’t aged. While the hipsters of the twenty first century may have moved to the beaches further up north, the curious young ones continue to hang out in the by lanes of the Chapora jetty.

Tucked in a quiet lane, Villa Dreamer is a four bedroom stylish home right next to some of Anjuna’s favourite restaurants. Tastefully done, the interiors exude luxury. The four bedroom villa has its own private pool shaded by a mango tree that you will end up spending much of your time in, even though the beach is not far at all.

Our villa Villa Mykonos will transport you to Santorini. The neat white bungalow, with its tiled roof and beach facing private pool, has a private and direct access to the Anjuna beach. Its interior of concrete and wood against the sparkling white walls could feature in any design magazine. The highlight is the pool, from where the sea , the horizon every sunset is an exclusive event for the guest to enjoy.

Vagator, with rocky cliffs and stunning views is a perfect place to rent a villa

Vagator derives its name from the tiger that once freely roamed these wild parts. That was a long time ago. Now a hep beach destination, with many tourists, the Vagator is split into two by a rocky promontory.

By day a safe bet for school picnics, with the nearby Chapora fort as an added attraction. The rocky outcrops beyond the beach, and hill provide panoramic views to watch the sunset on the Arabian sea.

The hilltop is also where you can find one of the most happening nightclubs of Goa. Its open air trance parties are to be experienced at least once during your stay in North Goa.

Our spectacular 7 bedroom Villa Vagator near the beach could easily star in any Architecture and Design magazine. Its floor to wall marble bathrooms match the aesthetics of its wall to wall French windows across its three floors framing beautiful foliage of the trees outside. With decks overlooking the pool, and large sunken seating area in the tropical garden, this villa is for those who truly appreciate luxury. The roof with its view of the sea is an additional lounging area, with ample space for a large group to chill in.

Morjim, Mandre, Ashwem and Arambol  are yet to showcase the full potential

Morjim saw its fortunes turn after the construction of the bridge between Siolim and Chopdem, connecting this fishing village with the rest of the tourist belt. Tranquil and laid back , the beach which extends right up to the Chapora river in the south is a favourite among foreign travellers. The southern tip facing off the Chapora fort on the other side of the river mouth is particularly spectacular. Morjim’s shallow waters make it a favourite for new surfers. A bunch of beachside shacks rim this beach in the north, but do not overwhelm the sense of peace here.

Sometimes referred to as ‘Little Russia’ for the many Russians that call Morjim home. When you rent a villa here you can experience the fusion of cuisines and culture, reflective of the cultural diversity of the beach .

North of Morjim, is the equally lovely Mandrem. This small beach is remarkable for the Mandrem creek that runs parallel to the shore, swelling up with sea water during high tide. Mandrem Beach is a white sand beach with clear water. The beach of Mandrem lies between the twin beaches of Morjim and Arambol. Mandrem like Morjim is a nesting site for the endangered Olive Ridley sea turtles , and benefits from the turtle conservation efforts required.

Arambol is a bland of hippie and non hippie cultures and yet to be fully  explored by indian tourists

One of the northernmost of Goa’s beaches, Arambol is where seekers head to. Bohemian and unique, Arambol nurtures all kinds of alternate pursuits, and a unique outpouring of creative expression through music and movement. Arambols’ long golden beach is divided into two parts with the northern end of the beach curling into a cliff , and thus a little rockier. Everyone that Morjim takes the long walk to this end, where lies the Paliem sweet water lake. Ringed by green hills, this beautiful lake is great for a rejuvenating dip after a swim in the sea, but do take caution.

Cavelsooim, Benaulim and Colva hosting some of the best villa communities in South Goa

One of the longest, whitest, and cleanest beaches of South Goa, Benaulim’s calm waters are great for swimming. This beautiful south Goa beach is fringed with just enough restaurants and cafés to serve tourists without overwhelming the peaceful atmosphere of the place. Agonda is a new Go-to for sea and sand 

Agonda has for many years now consistently featured in the list of best beaches in Asia by travel site Trip Advisor. Relatively quiet and less crowded than its northern peers, Agonda is the beach for the romantics. The village has played a proactive role in keeping this beach protected from an onslaught of commercial development. Agonda feels just like what Goa may have felt back in the sixties, before it was discovered by flight loads of tourists.

Coconut trees sway to the hum of the sea breeze, as cows sun bath on the sandy beach. Postcard pretty, this beach sits tucked into a cove, with like many of Goa ‘s beaches has a river meeting the sea at one end, and a serene, though rocky corner, at the other end where you may find the lone South Goa traveller meditating on the setting sun. The sea waters however aren’t always swimmable. You are much better off, spending a few hours reading or sunbathing on the beach, and swimming in your own private pool in a beachside villa instead.

Palolem once was listed in 10 best beaches of the world

Shaped like the crescent moon and rimmed by coconut trees, this splendid, white beach was the perfect setting for Jason Bourne’s getaway paradise in the blockbuster Hollywood series. The fishing village of Palolem has retained its traditions, with the fisherfolk going out to sea everyday from this very beach, lending it authenticity despite its visitors.

Palolem is capped at either end by rocky outgrowths. The northern end gets cut off in high tide, turning it into an island attraction in itself. You can hire a boat, or even swim across to the Palolem Island Reserve; if you remember to also return while the tide’s low, you could even wade up to the island. Also known as the monkey island, the Reserve hosts other mammals and primates too and offers vantage points to site dolphins and sea turtles .

When you rent a beach villa here, Butterfly Beach isn’t too far. A new favourite with drone-carrying Instagrammers. Hidden in a cove, just north of Palolem this little secluded beach facing the azure blue waters , may take a little effort to access, but is well worth the effort.
